Equipment

  • Air Fryer

Ingredients

  • 2 large sweet potatoes
  • 2 tablespoons avocado oil
  • 1 ½ teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon chili powder
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper

Instructions

  • Preheat your air fryer to 350°F.
  • Cut your sweet potatoes into wedges by first cutting them in half lengthwise and then in half horizontally.
  • Cut each half down the middle and down the middle again until you have 16 equal wedges per potato and set aside.
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, and cayenne pepper.
  • Add the sweet potato wedges to the spice mixture and toss until each potato wedge is fully coated.
  • Add a single layer (you may have to work in batches) of sweet potato wedges to the air fryer and cook for 10 minutes.
  • Flip and cook for another 4-5 minutes.
  • Enjoy warm with ketchup or ranch.

Notes

Oven-Baked Version: No air fryer? No problem! Bake at 400°F for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through.
Use evenly sized wedges so they cook at the same rate.
Don’t skip flipping your potatoes to get crispy edges on all sides.
Increase heat to 375°F for extra crispiness during the last couple of minutes of cooking.
Storage: Let leftover wedges cool completely, then store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days.
Reheating: To keep them crispy, pop them back in the air fryer at 350°F for 4-6 minutes.
Freezing: Allow wedges to cool completely, then freeze in a resealable bag for up to 6 months. Reheat from frozen at 350°F for 8-10 minutes.
